NEW FLYING SPUR BLACK EDITION
Overview
The Flying Spur Black Edition is a prestigious limited edition, offering a wealth of eye-catching design touches that distinguish it from anything else on the road.
The exterior is characterised by the addition of Bentley’s Blackline Specification, which takes all the exterior brightware – features normally finished in chrome – and instead renders them in black. That includes everything from the radiator grille surround to the Bentley badges themselves. The powertrain and chassis systems are equally impressive. With Bentley’s new High Performance Hybrid powertrain, it offers exhilarating V8 power alongside the opportunity to drive on electric power alone.
This is a car that pairs four-door luxury with an intense driving experience, for those lucky enough to acquire one. To learn more about the Flying Spur Black Edition and arrange a test drive, contact us here at Bentley Mougins on +33 422 849 000 or submit a request today.
Design
A sleek luxury sedan with a dark aesthetic, the Flying Spur Black Edition is designed to turn heads.
The Blackline Specification turns the exterior detailing from chrome to black, lending the car an undeniable sporting edge. From the Bentley matrix grille surround and the bumper grilles to the ‘BENTLEY’ wordmark and the Bentley badges, it gives the car’s appearance an intensity that cannot be ignored. In addition to a Beluga black front splitter, it also features prominent ‘Black Edition’ badges. The 22” ten-spoke gloss black wheels can be paired with painted brake callipers in Mandarin, red or black.
On entering the car, you will step over Black Edition treadplates into a darkly luxurious cabin, upholstered by hand in Beluga black leather, which can be changed for other colours from the Bentley range. Black Edition badges are embroidered on the seats, while contrast stitching can be added as an option, in a colour to match that of your brake callipers.
During the day, sunlight floods in from above, thanks to a panoramic glass tilt and slide sunroof, complete with twin blinds and vanity mirrors, while at night, the cabin is bathed in mood lighting. And the moment you open any door, Animated Welcome Lamps project a swirling light show onto the ground, adding yet more drama.
The Flying Spur Black Edition also comes with the Bentley Rotating Display as standard. This innovative feature enables you to choose whether you want to see the central touchscreen, a simpler panel bearing just three analogue dials, or a section of uninterrupted Piano Black veneer, with no instrumentation at all.
Deep pile overmats, jewel fuel and oil filler caps and sports pedals complete the picture.

Performance
The Flying Spur Black Edition may be a spacious, luxury sedan, yet it remains, just like every Flying Spur, a driver’s car at heart.
It is built on Bentley’s new High Performance Hybrid powertrain – an innovative pairing of a 4.0 litre, turbocharged V8 engine with a powerful electric motor – enabling it to achieve incredible acceleration and cruising speeds, without compromise to its refined ride. It can even be driven on electric power alone for up to 80km.
The system can produce a combined power output of 680 PS and 930 Nm of torque. That translates into acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds (0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds), with a top speed of 270 km/h (168 mph). The car is also fitted with a stainless steel sports exhaust, to make the most of the rich roar from its V8 engine.
The suspension system, for example, features twin-valve dampers, which make this range of experiences possible, via the car’s Drive Dynamics modes. In short, it means Comfort mode is even more comfortable, while Sport mode is even more responsive and thrilling.
The Bentley Dynamic Ride anti-roll system reduces body roll when cornering, without having any effect on the car’s smooth ride when cruising in a straight line. All-wheel steering, meanwhile, reduces the car’s turning circle making it more agile in tight spaces and also makes for smoother lane changes at high speeds.
Lastly, an electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD) boosts rear-wheel grip when you are cornering hard, enabling you to power through bends more quickly and explore the car’s limits with confidence.

Technology
The Flying Spur Black Edition is a truly connected car. It features a built in wireless hotspot, wireless phone charging and both the wired and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. If, rather than relying on your phone, you would prefer to download apps direct to the car’s infotainment system, you can do that using the new My Bentley App Studio.
There are numerous advanced driver assistance systems, with features designed to make urban driving easier that include Traffic Sign Recognition, Park Assist, a Top View Camera, Reversing Traffic Warning and Pedestrian Warning.
It also comes with the My Bentley smartphone app, which can be used to access the car remotely. It can help you find your car or check whether the windows are closed and the doors are locked. It can alert you if your car is moved without your consent and it can even help you park, while you stand and watch.
Personalisation
There are seven standard exterior colours to choose from, however there are many more optional choices. When you consider Bentley’s extended range, the Mulliner range and a new collection of satin paints, there are over 80 finishes to choose from.
The 22” 10-spoke wheel fitted as standard can optionally be replaced with a brighter version, which retains the black pockets between the spokes but features bright machined faces rather than a completely black look.
Even the music system presents you with more than one option. Bentley Signature Audio is installed as standard, however, you can opt instead for either the 16-channel Bang & Olufsen for Bentley system or the 20-channel Naim for Bentley system.
